Chiara will be working on the lactylation project where she will be studying the histone lactylation modifications and its specific role in breast cancer. After performing a large scale screening, our lab has identified some very interesting hits and Chiara will be responsible for validating these hits and identifying functional relationships between putative candidates. The ultimate aim of the project will be to find genes catalysing the pyruvate to lactate metabolism and their role in influencing histone lactylation.

Apart from scientific research, Chiara enjoys reading and watching theatre and muscials. She also enjoys playing various sports and has been taking advantage of the beaches of Barcelona to play beach volleyball. Last, but not the least, she loves to explore new places by walking and enjoys the streets of Barcelona.
